IP Law Networking Event 2019

Hosted by Allens

DWL believes developing a professional network can help to build bridges between women at all stages of their careers. These connections can help promote confidence, workplace satisfaction and career development and advancement. The ability to network strategically is one of the most important assets lawyers at any stage of their careers can develop.

One of DWL’s aims is to provide a network for Diverse Women, by connecting them through professional networking and knowledge sharing. In June 2019, DWL ran a highly successful IP Career Networking Evening hosted by Allens. Over 80 Diverse Women law students studying combined degrees in STEM and Law were invited to a panel discussion on career pathways in intellectual property, featuring panellists from the New South Wales Bar Association, Allens, IP Australia and DWL. The event was opened by Australian Human Rights Commission Race Discrimination Commissioner Mr Chin Tan.

Highlights from our IP Law Networking Event

After listening to the perspectives of the guest speakers, panellists and yourself, I left feeling so very empowered by my own diversity. There is so much meaning attached to each individual woman’s diversity and what you have created is a movement that truly resonates with me on a personal level.
